Tennis Academy

Led by a team of dedicated and experienced tennis professionals can offer you a superb training facility which is also equipped with the latest high-tech computerized video analysis systems.

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or high ranking club player the Tennis Centre at La Manga Club can help you improve your overall tennis performance.


Tennis Academy Courses

Suitable for all players beginner or experienced the 5 day course will teach beginners the basiss of tennis or for experienced players the opportunity ot improve on their overall tennis techniques.

The courses at the Tennis Academy run for a total of 5 days from Monday-Friday every week of the year and consist of the following.

* 2 hours on-court coaching with one of the qualified professionals.
* A 1 hour optional stroke analysis utilizing the latest high-tech video analysis.
* Players will be split into graded groups with no more than six players per professional.

In addition to the above players who attend the adult Tennis Academy will be given a complimentary five day gym pass for the Tennis Centre gym.
Junior Academies

The full Junior Academy program takes place in the Summer Holidays, with a smaller program all year round.

All courses run from Monday to Friday and offer extensive group coaching with the emphasis on FUN! Juniors will learn to play and practice with players of a similar age and ability coached by the tennis professionals.


Programs

* 6 and under – Mini Tennis, 45 minutes per day tuition providing a fun introduction to the game of tennis.
* 7-9 years – two hour session of coaching per day
* 10-12 years – two hour session of coaching per day
* 13-15 years – two hour session of coaching per day
* 16-19 years – two hour session of coaching per day

Monday
08:00 - 09:00 am Technical Session Forehand and serve.
09:00 - 10:00 am Match Play Specific match play situations.
16:00 - 18:00 pm Tactical Session Consistency from baseline; building up the point from the baseline and serving tactics.
18:00 - 19:00 Fitness Isotonic drinks break.  
Sand pit training working on core body strength and plyometrics, followed by stretching.  

Tuesday
08:00 - 09:00 am Technical Session Backhand and spin serves.
09:00 - 10:00 am Match Play Specific match play situations.
16:00 - 18:00 pm Tactical SessionConsistency from baseline plus change of direction. Differences between aggressive & defensive ball. Building point from the serve.
18:00 - 19:00 pm Energy   Fitness Isotonic drinks break. Specific circuit training with exercise stations set up on court, followed by stretching.    

Wednesday
08:00 -09:00 am Technical Session Net game and continue ground strokes.
09:00 - 10:00 am Match Play Specific match play situations.
16:00 - 18:00 pm Mental Toughness Session Mental toughness session with very intensive drilling. Working up to and at the net.
Introduction to angles.
18:00 - 19:00 pm Energy Fitness Banana and Isotonic drinks break. Explosive exercises and longer sprints on the football pitches to build endurance, followed by stretching.    

Thursday
08:00 - 09:00 am Technical Session Approaches, improvement of net game and overheads.
09:00 - 10:00 am Match Play Specific match play situations.
16:00 - 18:00 pm Tactical Session Opening up the court. Use of angles. Control of the ball from the position on court.
Introduction to mental situations in a match.
18:00 - 19:00 pm Energy Fitness Banana and Isotonic drinks break.  THE BEACH RUN - interval training followed by stretching.
 
Friday
08:00 - 09:00 am Technical Session Match play and game based exercises.
09:00 - 10:00 am Match Play Specific match play situations
16:00 - 18:00 pm Match PlayDavis Cup style format - competitive singles & doubles followed by tactical feedback session. 18:00 - 19:00 pm Awards
FitnessIsotonic drinks break followed by presentation. "Aqua fitness" - Team races and games in the shallow section of the pool.

Junior Pro Academy

Desingned to meet the needs of up-and-coming tournament players high standard junior players the Junior Pro Academy offers between 15 and 25 hours of intensive coaching a week for players aged 10-15 years of age.
The morning training sessions focus primarily on technical skills, while in the afternoon the emphasis of the training sessions is on tactical, technical. Physical and mental skills, aided by the v1 digital analysis sytem.
The Junior Pro Academy is help weekly during July and August and easter and half terms, with2 hours in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. It is also possible to do the 3 hour session in the afternoon only.
To take part in the Junior Pro Academy players must have attained a reasonable standard of play and as a guide players should be regular junior tournament players who receive all year round coaching.
The Pro Academy is split into three age groups; 10-12 yrs, 13-15 yrs and 16-19 yrs.



Group and Private Tuition

On-to-one private lessons can be arranged with the tennis coaching professionals to suit your specific needs. Group coaching can also be arranged for all ages and ability levels


DVD Digital Video Analysis

The outstanding facilities at La Manga Club Tennis Academy include the latest DVD digital tennis coaching system.

The 15 hour Academy course also includes 1 hour of video analysis which is played back on onto a life size video screen for analysis and improving overall tennis technique. Along side a library of video footage of some of the world’s greatest tennis player’s comparisons of style between the world’s top players and the players at the Tennis Academy can be made.
