Insurance
We require that all those on a tour with Vapour Trails Direct are adequately insured to cover for eventualities
while abroad. We do not insist that you purchase travel insurance from Vapour Trails Direct, in fact we do not
sell travel insurance, just that you and all those on your booking have suitable insurance.
We do not sell insurance for the following reasons.
1- There are rules and laws governed by the Financial Service Authority and we wish to sell tours not
insurance.
2- Many of our customers have travel insurance that they obtain as part of other financial services, so there is
no need to pay twice.
3- We do not wish to perform in depth Medical Screening with our customers, all we need to know is the
information we request on our booking forms.
As a guide we recommend that a suitable insurance policy have the following insured amounts,
Medical Insurance
£ 5,000,000
Cancellation Cover
£ 5,000
Personal liability
£ 2,000,000
Missed departure
£ 1,000
Personnel accident
£ 20,000
Hospital benefit
£ 800
Legal protection
£ 25,000
Travel delay
£ 300
Baggage
£ 2,000
Money
£ 500
The above is only a guide and individuals must purchase travel insurance to suit their own needs.
As well as the above, those travelling with Vapour Trails Direct will need to ensure that they have adequate
insurance to cover existing medical conditions, as these conditions can be costly to the individual while away
from the United Kingdom. We realise that insuring for existing medical conditions can be a substantial cost and
we can therefore suggest that our customers look at the policies offered by Global Travel Insurance.
If you require additional information regarding insurance please call our office.

MYTH - YOUR E111 CARD
AN E111 card does not cover all the cost of any medical treatment you receive in those countries that accept E111 cards.
Your own travel insurance company will most probly insist that you have such a card available in order to receive
medical traetment. Children are also not covered 100% for medical costs with E111 cards.
Insurance Policy
Carry with you your insurance policy when abroad, you never know when you may need it. Hospitals and medical establishments
will ask for your insurance details as part of the checkout procedure. In order to avoid costly calls to the UK and delays, have your
insurance policy with you and a telephone number in order to contact the insurance company.
Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
If you have pre-existing medical conditions you need to inform our travel insurance company about them, when you take out your Travel Insurance. For those
with pre-existing medical conditions, companies such as, Global Travel Insurance, have some interesting ways to reduce such insurance premiums.
