PRE-CHECK Departure Items
BEFORE LEAVING FOR THE AIRPORT
Before getting on to the tour items, are there any
tasks that we need to do in the home before we
leave for the airport.
•
Is there someone trustworthy who knows
you will be away in case of an emergency
and do they know how to contact you. As
an idea, leave them the hotel name or give
them Vapour Trails telephone number.
•
Do you need to cancel an delivers to your
home during the tour period.
•
Pay any bills that need attention.
Documents
Have you received your documentation from
Vapour Trails? Our documentation and travel
pack normally includes the follwing items for
tours with Air Travel.
•
Ticket or boarding pass for the aircraft,
check that you have one for out going
and another for inbound, with each
person having their own passes.
•
Luggage labels, 2 per person.
•
Plastic bag for liquids.
•
Itinerary and airport security
information where applicable.
•
Meeting instructions, usually on the
itinerary.
Your Own Documents
If your are travelling abroad, you will need to
take the following with you to the airport.
•
Your own valid passport, valid
meaning it is up to date and will be
valid upon your return to the UK.
•
Any visa you may need to enter the
destination country.
•
The tickets or boarding passes we
sent you to board the aircraft.

Any money/credit or debit cards are in
a secure place, not in your checked

•
Your insurance documents in case of
an emergency.
•
YOUR E111 Health Card, very
important.
Going to the Airport
We strongly advise that individuals or groups,
arrive at the airport when Check-in opens as
advised in your itinerary, for groups, even
earlier. Arports are busy places and any
number of events can slow check-in down,
such as IT failures, YES we have experienced
them. Ensure that your luggage contains no
banned items, see here
Also allow extra time to get to the airport,
delays are common place on roads and rail.
Consider the time you are leaving for the
airport, will there be rush hour delays or road
works. These days just because the check-in
desk may close 40 minutes before take off,
does not mean you will get through “Security”.
REMEMBER - AIRLINES WILL NOT WAIT

security, as these items go through a separate screening process. This includes
bottled water, wines and spirits and fragrances and cosmetics of any size.
Do I Need a Visa? - Our advise, IF IN DOUBT CHECK - DONT BE REFUSED ENTRY.
If you have a passport issued from a member country of the European Union, e.g. a United Kingdom or Irish passport, you do
not need a visa to enter other European Union Countries, however you passport has to be valid, see the “Start and Expiry”
dates on your passport. If you are travelling to counties other than the European Union, eg. Israel, Visa requirements will need
to be checked.
If your passport was issued by a none European Union Country, then a visa may be required, such as a Schengen Visa. If you
have a Schengen Visa, then please ensure that it is still valid to enter your destination country.
Babies and children also need to have passport identification
